anticipation for internship
In order to secure this internship, I had to jump through a lot of hoops and I had to keep going in the face of rejection. Originally, I had applied for an internship with San Juan Untracked Cat Skiing Co. This internship fell through for me in late November and it was a big let down for me. My potential mentor hadn't been responding to me, as a result of this I feared that the rejection was coming. Because of this, I started hunting for the internship that I really wanted but thought initially would be to hard to complete. When the rejection came, I had already received news that a internship with CCV was a possibility so I was thrilled!
My LINK Internship will be will Christ's Church Of The Valley in their music and youth ministries. This is a mega church that is located in Phoenix, AZ. The mission of CCV's music department is to touch the lives of the members of the congregation through music. CCV is a massive church with 6 different campus' and they reach out to the community. My Mentor for this internship will be with Danny Larsh, Danny is a worship and youth pastor who comes to Durango every year with massive retreats of kids and leads them in youth worship conferences. Danny can teach me the ways of the music industry through the church and he can show me how to be the best guitarist and/or worship leader I can be.
In my future, I hope to be able to have a career in music, I believe firmly that if you love what you do then you never work a day in your life. This LINK internship will show me whether or not a career in this field could be a possibility for me. If this career is a possibility for me in the future, this internship will have only moved me even closer toward my future.
