Today has been interesting so far, I came in at 9:30 as usual and just sat down to work for 3 hours. Danny was really busy all morning. He had meeting's from the get go so the morning was pretty open for what I wanted to accomplish. I worked on my song for about an hour and then I hit a mental block. I was having a hard time figuring out good chords to put into my bridge and was lacking motivation for writing lyrics. I don't know how my song is coming along to be honest, I feel like it isn't my best piece of music that I've written. Either way, my project for this internship was really to gain experience as a worship pastor and I've already gotten some really good experience doing that thus far. I want my song to turn out being great but I don't know right now, sometimes I just need some external feedback so that the opinion is unbiased. After I took a break from writing my song I played guitar for about an hour and a half and I worked on some John Mayer leads that I've wanted to learn for a long time. After that I spent some time going over this weekend's show plans on planning center, I am scheduled to play for a junior high service on Saturday at the Scottsdale campus and then for Sunday for high school at the Peoria campus. They should both be really fun, I haven't ever been to the Scottsdale campus so that will be a nice change. After going over the plans and music, there was an all staff meeting in building 4000 with lunch. All of the staff from every campus were there and it was pretty awesome to see really just how many people are behind the great presentations that CCV give each week. Senior Pastor Don gave out some awards for outstanding employees, and then talked about the things that the staff needed to work on and prepare for for the big Easter services. From there we went to a meeting about the next weekend worship services and series' and that was brief because we arrived late. From there I was asked by AJ, the sound tech and drummer extraordinaire to come and sing group vocals on some tunes for the weekends youth worship and a few more tracks for Jordan's new music project. That was fun and it was another great experience for me to get to interact with all of the other singers. That pretty much concluded another great day working at CCV.
